Super pleased with the quality of the service here, top notch food and a great facility.
So there are two buildings, the original one with the actual silo covered by green growth. Then the new one in the back of the courtyard. Our whole family went in the new one today and the manager greeted us right when we walked it the door. Told us of the pizza special of the day and we got that. This reminded me that I have been meaning to review the pizza here as this is now the 2nd time I have tried it.
The pizza here ROCKS! I could have sworn the first time I tried it that they were hand making the dough. Nope. Today I talked to the head chef and the dough is brought in frozen. He said that he has never used frozen dough before and had reservations but that it is locally made with only 4 natural ingredients and he was impressed. I am impressed too.
Ya'll that are giving this place low star reviews need to try the pizza. It's WAY better than any local chains and you could pay 10x this much for a pizza @ Round Table for similar quality. -

This review is only for Spokes. Aside from the usual card issue bullshit I endure at UCD eateries, I ordered a "lettuce wrapped" Cruiser. It's noted on the receipt, great. The burger maker will see that, that's good right? Does my pic of a dry turkey patty sitting on a bed of shredded lettuce look lettuce wrapped to you? Adding to my rage was the fact that the cashier couldn't answer my questions about manual card entry, or the department on campus who directly manages and maintains their POS systems. With the former, you'd think manual card entry would be one of the first things people are trained to do when operating a register/POS system. Jesus fucking christ.
Fries were meh, of In N Out quality.
Strawberry was actually decent.
No GF options for bread. Boo hiss. Hence the poor excuse of a lettuce wrap.
Line went relatively quickly.
But overall, I'm good with this place. -

Not the greatest place to be at on campus. Even during the summer I find it hard to get around that place. But if you want to eat then maybe it is the place to be. Here you can get just about anything to eat. Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Carl's Jr., Starbucks (wait they are all owned by the same company) There is also a place to get crapes, and a place to get salads, sandwiches ect. If you get there early you will be fine but if you wait to long you will be standing in line, and forget seating good luck with that, unless you are there early enough. There are seats outside, but if it's a nice day then you will again have a problem trying to find a seat. The plus side to the Silo is that its right in the middle of campus and it's probably one of the best places to people watch.
So get there early, get some food and people watch -

The burgers are expensive, The patties are too small for the buns and the patties are terribly dry. Yet another garbage eatery in Davis. -

I don't know what it is but the Silo just doesn't feel super clean to me? Surfaces seem sticky and it always smells kind of dusty and wet here at the same time.
I still come here because it's right next to my work, but even during the summer, there are lines at Starbucks and Carls Jr. so it's definitely not the most convenient place you can go to grab food. I feel like Coho is much quicker at cranking out orders - I've waited 30+ minutes for drinks/food at Silo locations.
Seating's also pretty hard to find but if you do find a seat there are a lot more outlets here than at Coho, so that's always nice!
Anyway, it's always overly crowded and the food options aren't the best - so I don't come here unless I have to.
